State prepaid burial

The government appointed administrators responsible for the cleaning of the Forest Hill funeral troubled companies has become a controversial practice: customers pay for funerals in advance.

Tennessee Forest Hill seized businesses, because the former owners allegedly stole millions of dollars from trust funds new to say prepaid funeral and cemetery maintenance.

For months, companies do not honour the policy of prepayment and families of thousands of dollars paid to love extra-buried.

Roger Watson, Forest Hill’s new General Manager, said of citizens the confidence of the State in honor of prepayment new policy.

“We are an honest, viable, operational activity,” he said.

Many funeral homes sell prepaid policy, but some consumer groups say paying for funerals in advance is almost always a bad idea.

It is said that man can lose, if it is far from the funeral home, where they purchased the policy, that fraud is possible, and that customers lose the interest they would have received if it ceases the money for himself.

Joshua Slocum, director of the Funeral Consumers Alliance in Vermont, said the Tennessee plan to begin selling prepaid funeral policy in Forest Hill is “horrible”.

“After this huge scandal that State, Bail, man, they returned with the same pitch?” he said.

In July, funerals property owners Clayton Smart announced that the houses rather than the honour of 13,000 prepaid contracts.

In January, Tennessee authorities have alleged in a civil trial, he stole millions of dollars in trust funds used for contracts and other costs of the cemetery.

Tennessee has received for Smart and charges against two other men and use the three Forest Hill funeral homes and three cemeteries in the region of Memphis in Arkansas and real estate.
